“I wanted to create a perfume
which seduces the men beyond the generations and the years.”
- Giorgio Armani, Milan 12 May 1984
Giorgio in 1984 conceptualized
the quintessence of the Armani style when he blended together the fragrance Armani eau pour homme. The beginning of
what would be a sensually smelling long life of success. Dripping with notes of
Bitter Orange, Bergamot, Nutmeg, Cedar and Vertiver just to mention a few
ingredients; this epitome of masculinity and elegance was the precursor in the
fragrance industry – the first citrus-chypré in 1984.
Taking your day into night is
Armani’s future classic interpretation of the brand’s unprecedented taste and
skill with tuxedos. Armani eau de
nuit was conceived with an ambery woody intensity which oscillates between the
sensuality of an iridescent blond and a spicy romantic freshness. Underlined
with signs of Ambrox and Tonka Bean its mid-tones include Orris and Basil
topped off with highlights that include Pink Pepper. This version of the men’s
fragrance presents itself as the epitome of a classic scent for all men of all
generations.
In 2013 we see the brand
introduce sublime print advertisements to accompany the seductive scent of
casual cool and slick suits. Mr Armani himself forms part of the communication
and he is accompanied by the gentlemen Charlie Siem (Violinist) and Francesco
Carrozzini (Photographer) who are each seen playing with their hands, the
refined way to express italianity.

I finally bought me Armani Black Code last month. Fragrance is one of those things we can't change so often without being disappointed with how the fragrance settles after a while. I've tried all of Dior's available range for men in SA, and the original Fahrenheit remains my favourite going for almost nine years now. I want to try out all of what Armani has to offer as well.
