It’s incredible
how some people have a knack for finding the most interesting spots for venues
for events. Held at the Cape Town Club, a venue I never knew existed, Luxottica
presented the AW14 Collections from luxury brands such as Oakley, Ray-Ban,
Prada and Burberry.
What seemed as a
tiny space filled up rather steadily of media and personalities. Some of whom I
had not seen in a while so I was thoroughly ecstatic to perform air kisses and
protected hugs. On arrival, one was presented with a name badge, plastic this
time around, as opposed to the wooden one from the previous media day. There
was a great sunglass display, merchandised like a huge pair of sunglasses
itself.
There was a
brief speech and then people mingled, nibbled on the free flowing canapés, all
the while sipping on notes of champagne or beer or cider – which ever tickled
ones fancy.
My highlights
from the briefing include the velvet Ray-Bans, the heritage inspired Burberrys
and not to mention the uber cool Pradas. One can never go wrong with a pair of
those.
