Recently, the Cap Classique
Champagne Festival hit the grass in Franschhoek right next to the beautiful
Franschhoek Monument. With a backdrop of a mountain ranges, greenery and
probably some of the cleanest air you’ll ever smell, it was the perfect
Saturday to be sipping on champagne and sparkling wines.
My treatment was undoubtedly
the best, compliments of the House of J.C. Le Roux. Earlier in the week
preceding the champagne festival, I received a special package from the brand
with my prize, after winning the competition to attend the festival as their
guest.
The box, gold and textured, was
filled with a bottle of the signature bubbles, Scintilla, a watch, key chain,
and bottle stopper. My grin, ear to ear, was uncontrollable and totally shared
with everyone who was around to witness the unveiling of the gift.
On the Saturday of the festival
we got cracking, sorted out outfits and got ourselves, rather fashionably late,
to the venue in Franschhoek. Upon arrival we were handed a pay card for
tastings, a glass, and great positive vibes. The J.C. Le Roux space felt like a
sublime VIP space. We had a bottle of chilled Scintilla waiting for us and we
were ready to pop it.
In true champers drinking style,
J.C. Le Roux Scintilla deserves nothing but the best complements; and what
better than oysters to ensure the liquid bubbles, dry and fruity, flow frivolously
through the beautiful sunny afternoon in Franschhoek.
A
tasting at the House of J.C. Le Roux is in order and on the cards and I
definitely won’t be missing the Cap Classique 2015.
