Maboneng is fast becoming
Johannesburg’s newest retail destination; with a host of markets and newly
designed and renovated buildings being turned into super urban and exciting
spaces to shop in. It’s not surprising that stakeholders of the 66-metre-high
modular structure selected Maboneng as the ideal creative hub space to house
this enormous project.
Hallmark House, the iconic
17-floor, R200-million Post-Modernist building, is the newest venture to hit
the ground running in Maboneng. Boasting a luxurious combination of culture,
art, design, lifestyle and retail – the space takes the African aesthetic to a
minimalist feel, encompassing it with interiors reflecting the lines and
silhouettes of the surrounding urban metropolis.
Retail within the Maboneng
district has regenerated a walking culture amongst local residents and
tourists. With Hallmark House’s transformation, this typology of taking over
the city is extended and given an additional sense of luxury and fine living.
Hallmark House’s space, also playing host to a gym, outdoor cinema, Rooftop Bar
and The Grand CafĂ©, will ultimately see locals play and shop at the same spot –
further adding to the convenience.
