Saturday, 9 January 2016 is the
date we all need to remember. It would be a brand new year, the beginning of a
whole new social calendar and what better way to usher in a new set of
glamorous events other than with the 155th L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate
(LQP) at Kenilworth Racecourse.
As South Africa’s premier and
most stylish horseracing event, the LQP boasts an exhilarating day of horse
racing; bringing together some of the country’s finest thoroughbreds pursuing
the coveted trophy and R1 million purse.
In excess of the track’s
activities, the opulence of the LQP will once again be showcased through guests
dressed up and sporting the traditional blue and white colours of the LQP.
Guests will also get to indulge in world-class music, culinary offerings and
entertainment across a variety of hospitality marquees including the Paddocks
Sites and Stud Club.
“The L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate
has a rich history and is a defining moment in the international horseracing
calendar. Every year we strive to maintain strict standards of elegance and
leisure while building on the success of the past. LQP 2016 will deliver
everything people have come to expect, plus a few surprises,” said Katherine
Gray, co-ordinator of the LQP 2016.
A surprise already revealed was
the announcement of SA personality Bonang Matheba as the official Spokesperson
for the LQP in 2016. Which such fireworks popping already, one can’t resist the
urge to smile inside where it counts in anticipation of this event. Tickets are
already available via Computicket. But if you’d like to take a chance at
winning double Stud Club tickets, visit our Facebook Page here and enter the
