adidas Originals has enlisted Blondey McCoy, Na-Kel Smith,
Tavia Bonetti and Tiffany Lighty to celebrate one of its most raw and authentic
sneaker silhouettes — the Campus.
Like so many great adi sneakers, the Campus was adapted from
sport to the street and quickly became a coveted lifestyle shoe after its
introduction in the 1980s. It then became a favorite amongst the emerging
downtown creative scene in New York in the early ’90s, which also provides the
inspiration for this latest campaign.
Photographed by Kenneth Capello, the “No Time to Think” the
campaign riffs on the movement with a new creative set who are linked to the
current downtown scene and skate culture. In it, adidas holds up Blondey,
Na-Kel, Tavia and Tiffany as the new faces of the Campus with a set of cheeky
images shot at local playgrounds, jewelry stores and basketball courts.
adidas Originals will launch fresh Campus styles on June 15 at
adidas locations worldwide and online.
