This week, from
the 17th – 19th August 2017, African Fashion
International (AFI), owner and operator of the two prestigious fashion week
platforms – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town (MBFWCT) and Mercedes-Benz
Fashion Week Joburg (MBFWJ), will be hosting MBFWJ17 Spring/Summer, at
Waterfall Park, Mall of Africa.
The list of
designers participating is out and so is the schedule. It’s an incredible
melting pot of local and African talent that will probably surprise and delight
with creativity, tailoring ingenuity and a slice of showmanship.
“We have
collaborated with South African and African fashion design royalty to offer a
world-class spectacular of refined African apparel and accessories at our
exciting new venue, the Mall of Africa,” says Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe, AFI
Founder and CEO. “We are also delighted to welcome collections from young
designers who are making waves in the fashion world, with the overall programme
sure to grab the attention of media, industry experts and fashionistas alike.”
Designers
showcasing, among others, include: KLUK CGDT, Marianne Fassler, Ruff Tung,
Quiteria & George, Sheri Ngowi, Chidinma Obari and Khosi Nkosi. Be on the
lookout for KL Tsotetsi, TN Collective
and The Intern by David Tlale.
