This year, in its ever-forward-thinking
ethos, Tag Heuer is honouring one icon with another. Pioneered in 189 by Edouard
Heuer with a patent for the first watertight case in watchmaking history, The
South African rugby team, The Springboks, are being honoured with an all-new
release of the men’s version of the Aquaracer.
The Aquaracer, created in 2003
and beloved by men and women alike, has been given an updated look in this
honour. Equipped with a quartz movement nd water resistant to 300 metres, this
sporty watch displays the iconic codes of the Aquaracer while for the first
time, showcases a green aluminium bezel, with gold-plated hour and minute hands
as well as indices. It also boasts the distinctive technical characteristics of
the Aquaracer collection, which have become known and trusted globally.
Featuring the
prominent green and gold on the dial, this limited edition Aquaracer has the
official Springboks logo at six o’clock, while the back casing is engraved with
a Springbok and the logo. With only 200 in the world, it will become a
collector’s piece.

Springbok players and friends of the brand have already set their sights on
specific numbers, with captain Siya Kolisi wearing no.6, Blitzboks captain
Philip Snyman no.7, Jesse Kriel no.13, Malcolm Marx no.2, Warren Whitely no.8
and Tendai “Beast” Mtawarira no.100.
