#FASHIONWEEK: SA Menswear Week Castings

Monday, 9 January, 2017 saw the official castings for male models for South Africa Menswear Week (SAMW) take place at the newly opened opulent nightclub, The Bank on Queen Victoria Street. Between the mere 2 hours of 12 midday to 2PM, a flurry of established faces and jittery newcomers flocked the venue to hopefully get themselves scouted to walk the runway.

The air was filled with excitement, anxiety and heightened tension. Of course not everyone gets selected, but it’s also not the end of their world. Even those selected don’t always get to walk, in the end, the designers choose the faces they want walking their show in order to further enhance their collections’ expression.
