‘Tis the season
to be jolly and PUMA is here dropping it like it’s hot. We round up key
seasonal highlights from PUMA, including second editions with collaborators and
first-time partnerships. We look at the Suede as it celebrates 50 years in
existence and take on Japanese tradition for inspiration.
Kiki Pack Takes
Floral Design Cues from Japanese Heritage
“Kiku no Sekku”,
also known as Chrysanthemum Day, is the ancient celebration on the 9th
day of the 9th month of the fleeting beauty of flowers in Japan.
PUMA has taken to this inspiration to create the latest Kiki Pack, an
appropriate follow-up to Hanami Pack launched in March. The Kiku Pack sees the
introduction of new versions of the Clyde Fashion, Blaze Cage, and Platform Mid,
executed in soft white leather with embroidered floral detailing.
The Kiku Pack
is available at PUMA SELECT and X-Trend.
PUMA and Han Kjøbenhavn
Team Up for Scandinavian Simplicity and Functionality
A little bit of
simplicity and practical design never hurt anyone. Yet a good dose of
Scandinavian design fused with athleisure concepts packs a great fashion punch.
The duo came through and put together a pack that has a sense of sophistication
with an air of street edge. The seamless fusing of fashion and sport is
something that PUMA and Han Kjobenhavn seem to be incredibly great at,
independently and when collaborating.
The
PUMA x HAN KJØBENHAVN collection drops from 16th
October at PUMA SELECT, X-Trend, Shelflife, Anatomy, Cop Capital and Madaiza.
PUMA and The
Weeknd Drop 2nd PUMA x XO Collection
The Weeknd is
busy, and rightfully so. XO seems to becoming more and more popular with urban
culture, and from his collaboration with H&M which also just dropped a
second coming in stores, his PUMA x XO 2nd wave is here and it’s
hotter than the first. Featuring a selection of denim pieces, including the
PUMA x XO denim jacket and statement Denim Kimono with tapered sleeves, fans
are bound to eat this all up, especially after The Weeknd has been flexing his
style muscles during his Legend of the Fall World Concert Tour.
The second drop
of the PUMA x XO Parallel is available at PUMA SELECT, Shelflife and X-Trend
stores.
PUMA Kicks Off
50 Years of Suede with The Rudolf Dassler Suede
PUMA is
celebrating 50 years of the Suede and what better way than to pay homage to the
man who started it all, Rudolf Dassler. The Suede was designed to be a
contemporary classic; with timeless design, fine fabric and its grippy sole,
the Suede is just like PUMA’s originator, a street legend. This classy
rendition keeps it G with black laces on black suede and creame accents with a
textured outsole to set it off.
The Rudolf
Dassler Suede pack is available at PUMA SELECT and X-Trend stores.
PUMA Drops the
B-Boy Pack to Celebrate 50 Years of Suede
With 50 years
on its track record, the PUMA Suede has not necessarily seen it all, but it
definitely has seen enough to celebrate. From a mixture of fashion and music,
to street and pop culture experiences, the Suede is definitely an iconic
fixture in the sneaker world. To jump start the series of Suede drops, PUMA
looks to the B-Boy culture, putting together a capsule pack including PUMA
Suedes, T7 Track Suits, a Tee and Accessories in OG styles and colourways.
The B-Boy
Suedes and Gear are available from PUMA SELECT, PUMA Canal Walk, PUMA Gateway,
PUMA Mall of Africa, The Cross Trainer, Archive and selected SportScene Stores.
