While
my life takes a crashing during the most festive season in the country, the 157th
LÓrmarins Queen’s Plate (LQP) Festival is upon us with all its glamour and high
horse racing stakes. Hosted at the Kenilworth Race Course in Cape Town, the
event, the now 2-Day festival has been long synonymous with adjectives such as
style, fashion, adrenalin, culture, opulence and quality. 2018 is going to be
no different. With international luxury brand Cartier being a co-sponsor since
2016, in 2018, they up the stakes by sponsoring the prestigious Grade 1 Paddock
Stakes, which will be run on the Saturday, 6th January, 2018 of the
festival.
The
best think about the LQP Festival, for me, is that it’s almost stylishly
impossible to get the theme wrong: Blue & White. It’s that simple. Take
your cue from smart casual moving forward to towards high-fashion cocktail
party. If you’re in the running to win best dressed, then as a lady it’s best
you have a beautiful garden party dress with a matching hat and gents, a simple
2- to 3-piece suit with a hat will do the trick in getting you noticed. For the
rest of us, I’m pretty sure it’s runway couture we’re going after.
I
understand it’s January and budgets are a mess, so it’s best you get your
ticket asap via the LQP site here.
There is a variety of options for you to select from, including the Style
Lounge, priced at R350, the Stud Club Lounge at R1300 and even the sunning
Paddock Sites at R10’000 per table. And because this is LQP, you can expect the
most opulent of hospitality service and offerings, including free flowing Bruts
and nibbles.
But
don’t forget to bring your wallets! There is the incredible traditional running
of the Grade 1 LÓrmarins Queen’s Plate race on Saturday, 6th
January, 2018 –with a stunning R1.5 million purse.
So,
what exactly are you waiting for? Head on over to http://www.lqp.co.za/tickets-hospitality/
to book yourself ad friends a seat!
And
if you’re feeling lucky: We’re running a competition on our Facebook Page for 2
lucky winners to grab themselves a set of double tickets into the Stud Club
Lounge at the 157th LÓrmarins Queen’s Plate on Saturday, 6th
January, 2018 worth R2600 per set.
