The prestigious Bokeh South African
International Lifestyle and Fashion Film Festival continues to grow in size,
recognition and projects. The 5th year of the festival promises to
be the best yet and sees premium cider brand Savanna Loco come on board as the
new Presenting Sponsor and a slight shift in focus from primarily focussing on
fashion films to lifestyle and fashion.
Design, Music and Technology are now
added to Fashion and Film as the five core pillars that make up the festival.
Three exciting run up events will
launch the new festival; the media launches will take place in Cape Town on the
03 May, Johannesburg on the 10 May and Durban on the 12 May 2018.
With Savanna Loco now on board, the
festival bids farewell to a fruitful Headline Partnership with Mercedes-Benz,
after four years as the presenting sponsor and successfully bringing meaningful
awareness to both the brands.
“The relationship with Mercedes-Benz
has lead us to this point, where we welcome a new direction to the festival as
a lifestyle brand and are excited to introduce new avenues, such as Bokeh
Fashion Film TV,” says Bokeh festival founder Adrian Lazarus.
Marshal Barends, Brand Manager of
Savanna Loco comments: “Savanna Premium Cider is pleased to be associated with
the 2018 Bokeh South African International Lifestyle and Fashion Film Festival,
a festival that strives to create a strong platform for local and international
fashion and film designers to showcase their talents and be given the
opportunity to express themselves in an “unapologetically different” way.
As a one of the biggest cider brands
in South Africa Savanna has always supported local talent and being known as
the cider brand that’s different and “unapologetic” our association with Bokeh
will continue to elevate our premium positioning in the lifestyle market.”
As well as a TV show, this year, the
festival is excited to be publishing the third edition of the Bokeh Magazine,
which will launch at the main red-carpet gala events taking place in both
Johannesburg and Cape Town this September.
Bokeh has always been at the
forefront of honouring and assisting young creatives and emerging talent and
shooting is about to begin for the Emerging Creative Talent Category. Students
and design graduates are encouraged to form teams and shoot short films with assistance
from Bokeh when it comes to mentoring, budget and equipment, with Fuji XT-2 and
XH1 cameras offered to all student teams creating submissions.
The ten Emerging Creative Talent
Category films will be screened at the Gala Events with the winning team being
awarded R50 000 to further advance their film careers as well as uniquely
designed trophies by innovative designer/artist Carrol Boyes.
Last year saw over 600 film
submissions from 58 countries and 2018 is expected to break further records
with even more submissions.
The festival has welcomed many fans
over the years and looks forward to welcoming even more diverse fans with the exciting
new presenting sponsor, Savanna Loco.
The Gala Events of the Bokeh SA
International Lifestyle and Fashion Film Festival presented by Savanna Loco
will take place from the 20th to the 29th of
September 2018 in both Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Film
submissions to the festival close on the 31st of July 2018.
