Fashion Week: It’s About To Explode at SA Fashion Week

Oh how the fashion lords never seize to amaze. Just when you think you’ve caught a break it all begins again. Next week sees the take-off of SA Fashion Week at the contemporary Crowne Plaza, The Rosebank in Johannesburg from Thursday 11 – Saturday 13 April 2013. This week sees the launch of the first looks for Spring Summer 2013 in South Africa (SA). Some of the thirty must-see designers include last year’s young design talent winner Skorzch, PALSEhomme, Naked Ape, Ephymol and Kujula Mtambo of Gravitie Clothing who will be showing as part of the KZN Fashion Council Business Support Unit Collective; which will also host designers Haroun Hansrot, Blaklisted and Jacqueline Munsami.

Fashion Week (FW) activities will be kicked off with the Sheer Glamour Collections by Motions and TRESemmé presentation – invite only – hosted by hairstylists Nthato Mashishi for Motions and Matthew Mansoor for TRESemmé whose models will be showcasing summer 2013 hairstyles while wearing beautiful creations by designers including the ever on-the-next-big-thing Suzaan Heyns, the internationally eclectic Stoned Cherrie and even Bonang Matheba’s favourite designer hot blonde Gert-Johan Coetzee.

A big amazeballs for the week is Row-G’s return to FW with what is going to be a titillating menswear collection from the bespoke design brand. Albertus Swanepoel, SA’s most premier New York-based milliner has landed from the states to launch his luxury women’s sportswear collection. As if that were not enough excitement SAFW introduces the inaugural Lufthansa First Best Collection that will see labels MissShape + Cutterier by Laz Yani + Anmari Honiball + Mej. Lues by Hanrie Lues + Samantha Constable showcase collections focused on creativity and workmanship.

I mean I just can’t wait. It’s geared to be a rather exciting week and I trust the fashionistas present will be just as amazing. I’m most looking forward to making new contacts and getting to chat to fellow bloggers and find out all the juicy Joburg news I’ve been missing out on and possibly get a few fashion lessons too.

PS Zee, Jerri, Vuvu, Mahlatse – Y’all better take care of me when I get there! Can’t wait to see you guys xx

PPS I’ll be sporting three amazing hats by my favourite mad hatter, CLOCHE. Here are some photos of the work that has been in progress… Just can’t wait… And to further name drop, the designer for CLOCHE was apprentice to Albertus Swanepoel not so long ago!

I don’t like such kind of men wear. I think in the market, we can easily find the men wear which is more beautiful and comfortable.
