So Warby Parker launched their
summer collection this week. According to the brand some of the inspiration
behind this collection includes ‘images of Jackson Pollock splatter-painting
outdoors’… All leading to a sort of mid-century bohemia and weekend-long house
party.
The brand is probably more
inclined to producing eyeglasses considering how small their selection of
sunglasses is. The frames are not particularly that exciting for me, but then
again I’m the kind of guy who likes to cause drama. If I think of the consumer
at ground zero, the guy who wants to be trendy without the attention then the
brand is delivering work worth investing in for your wardrobe.
The shades are fairly safe and
their style and shape allows for all kinds of faces to wear them without feeling like
you’ve just offended the frames. The styles are classic with a trendy update.
Let’s face it, tortoiseshell will never die out when it comes to eyewear.
One great thing I must mention
is the sense of giving back at Warby Parker. For every pair of frames bought
from their collection, Warby Parker donates a pair of eyeglasses to someone in
need through one of their non-profit partners.
So what are you waiting
for? You know you’d like a pair to show off in the office or during after work
drinks on Friday. Go ahead and buy, you’re unlikely to regret it.
