#THELOOKBOOK: Autumn Half-Est

Welcome to #TheLookbook, our very own Renaissance Men SA version of style diary posts. Be that Day-1 kind of guy with this last of the Autumn Half-Est look. Still keeping in with Siki Msuseni’s, half-tuck trend, Editor Monde Mtsi, sports an oversized shirt look with leather and it down a notch with a pair of jeans and a bucket hat. A great look for the weekend braai or late lunch. Easy cool, hassle free, and comfortable.

Have a good look at the feature image and then we’ll get into what’s what in the look.

A – The Leather Jacket – Hanson Leather Jacket from Old Khaki
The leather jacket is an ideal wardrobe staple for every guy. Easy to wear and even easier to maintain – it provides a versatile styling option for any day of the week. Old Khaki’s Hanson leather jacket is no different. Cut to fit with a little bit of length on the sleeves, this number sits well and is warm and comfy. Wear it with a work shirt + chinos + tie and you’re ready for the office, or throw on a cap and jeans and you’re sorted for Friday.

B – The Shirt – Gareth Herringbone Check Shirt from Old Khaki
We’re still keeping with the over-sized shirt craze. It’s easy to wear, comfortable and provides a loose fit with a great cut. If it’s not your style, then you can get the shirt in your size for that extra tailored-look fit. This Gareth shirt comes with extra length for added styling and is available in warm/cool colour combinations – perfect for changing seasons.

C – The Jeans – OK Regular Leg in Indigo from Old Khaki
There’s very little one can say about denim that has not been said before. Truth is, one can only be reminded to go out and get themselves another pair. You can’t possibly have too many pairs of jeans.

D – The Sneakers – Plain Jane High-Tops from Mr Price
Sneakers are the most laid-back way you could casual-out a look. They are also a very comfortable option. Mr Price has a great range of easy-going sneakers, which cost a fraction of the price against other stores. To keep your styling simple, go for a neutral colour, such a black, grey or white; that way, you can pair them with pretty much everything.

E – The Hat – Snake-skin bucket hat in black by Petrol or Milk from Boaston Society
If you still have not managed to get yourself a bucket hat, we’re not quite sure what you’re waiting for. Yes, it’s a trend that is picking up now although they have been around for decades – it doesn’t matter. Bucket hats are a cool and trendy way of dressing down a look, so find a great fit for your head in a style you love – and buy it.

F – The Sunglasses – Wayfarer Eyewear from Old Khaki
Wayfarers are pretty much like Aviators. Great frame/shape that is friendly on most faces + classic style that is current and trendy in any era + they come in amazing applications, including polarized. They are great for dressing up or dressing down. Wayfarers are a staple style of sunglasses for everyone.

You should always remember with these looks, that the object of the game is to encourage exploration. Perhaps you’re after the bucket and leather jacket combination with patent leather shoes and slim-fit jeans; that’s cool too. There’s no need to go out and get this entire look as is. Explore and discover.
