#THELOOKBOOK: The Rupert Denim Jacket

Colder weather does not mean a million layers. Finding the right outerwear could be the difference in your style files between overheating and being stuck with too much on your hands or keeping your look minimalist yet warm. Monde Mtsi discovers just that with the latest find from Old Khaki: The RupertDenim Jacket.

TheRupert Denim Jacket from Old Khaki, retail price @ R850 each
The Rupert Denim Jacket from Old Khaki is first a denim jacket and then a hooded jumper. It combines the practical warm and easy fit of a hooded sweater with the casual edge of a denim jacket. Its main body being denim with enough pockets to ensure when you’re out for a quick chill, you don’t need a bag for your life. It also happens to have two side pockets, for your hands (and phone or wallet), which is always ideal. The sweater sleeves allow for easy movement while retaining heat to keep you comfortably warm. It also comes with a hoodie – which, drum roll please – is detachable.

So if you don’t feel like wearing your hoodie and would much prefer to do a beanie, like the thick Susana Chunky Beanie with Faux Fur Pom Pom (picture here) also from Old Khaki, you can totally do that. Its dual abilities mean your headgear does not go unnoticed. Whether it’s your favourite bucket hat or 5-panel peak cap – it gets to be in on the show too.

In this look, Monde wears the Rupert Denim Jacket with a vintage turtleneck in indigo, spray on skinnies in black from Cotton On and black Guiseppe sneakers. You could pair this jacket with chinos, day shirt and blazer to the office, just to knock the winter chill off its feet. If you’re a brave enough fashion lover, complement the jacket with a denim shirt and your favourite pair of jeans with some Chuck Taylor sneakers and an umbrella.

Which ever way you rock it, make sure to get the Rupert Denim Jacket first, from Old Khaki stores across South Africa for only R850.
