#NEWS: Rich Mnisi Drops Nwa-Mulamula Mother Lookbook

Nwa-Mulamula is the trans-seasonal lookbook offering from Johannesburg-based fashion designer, Rich Mnisi. From the lookbook itself, the four men’s looks present a collection of varying textures and fabrications in a solid dark to monochrome palette with a spot colour of lemon-zest-yellow. It’s regal in its integrity and for a change of heart, offers a much more masculine approach to menswear than his previous collections have. Perhaps more accurately, less drama and femininity…

It could be my very own brain fart, however, with the minute inclusions of velvet and sheers, the collection presents a classic offering indulgent of key seasonal items that provide opportunities for taking centre stage without exuding too much. The cuts are close-to-body yet offer a good deal of form-fitting freedom. Much more colour inclusions would have been appreciated, it’s always a beauty to adding colour to colder, somewhat darker seasons.

Overall, the collection is great and adaptable – allowing you to consider which pieces from it are most vital to your wardrobe update and consider your options on how to maximize them once bought. The fur trim jacket will get dated in a couple of years but it’s a quiet statement piece for the next two transitional season cycles. The pin-stripe pajama styled suit is gold in terms of wardrobe staples and the zebra coat is a loud proclamation to make when going out, however, it’s definitely going to be one of the moments hosting plenty of longevity.
