The colours blue and white are
associated with royalty in many parts of the world, befitting, considering the
calibre of most attendees at this year’s 155th L’Ormarins Queen’s
Plate at Kenilworth Racecourse in Cape Town.
Set against the backdrop of
green pastures and gallant stallions, the Queen’s Plate saw a posse of
fashionistas and a train of vixen local personalities sashay to and fro amongst
a group of highly acute members of the general public. With the event’s,
thankfully, highly simplistic yet opportune dress code of ‘stylishly blue and
white, it was rather difficult for anything to bring their fashion victim
personality to the fore.
We spent most of the day
attempting to dodge the sun in the Style Lounge by politely making our way in
and out of the Stud Club. There were plenty of online and traditional media
folk around and one was forgiven for missing out on a specific person considering
the volume of human bodies that were in attendance.
Thank you Dominique Le Roux for the gorgeous ensemble! |
If you missed it, shame on you.
Hopefully the above images have instilled enough envy in you to ensure you get
your tickets for the next event. Here’s to hopefully seeing you at the next one
in 2017!
