Saturday arrived so quickly it
almost went past just as fast. From not knowing until the eleventh hour whether
I had my media pass or not to my cousin Busi winning tickets from Grazia. It
was just insane. Organising this and that; Ayanda having to change her outfit
concepts to accommodate unforeseen circumstances; it really became a crazy
Saturday, 1 March 2014.
All this fuss one would really
just throw in the towel, but when you know you’re attending the Veuve Clicquot
Masters Polo, you do everything in your power to ensure you’re there and you’re
there looking like a million rands.
On arrival we handled final wardrobe
adjustments and had a lovely down-to-earth chat with Liezel van der Westhuizen;
who looked amazing in a simple bronze dress and a leopard print turban. As
always, the Veuve Clicquot area is always well-catered for and hosts a number
of fantastic people. The amazing fashion duo, Christiaan Gabriel du Toit and
Malcolm Kluk were present too, and having a swell chat with Jeanny D and a few
other people.
Adjacent to us was the Bentley
hospitality section that was not as packed but had a great deal of amazingly
dressed men and women: reserved, but exquisitely attired. Equus had a lounge area
too, which housed a few different collections of people and organisations. Of course
I was bound to find myself involved in that situation and I had the incredible
pleasure of being hosted by the Kaya FM team who were at The Polo.
Needless to say, the rest is
history. The Veuve Clicquot Masters Polo Cape Town 2014 was incredibly worth
all the beauty and glamour one can ad should expect. The guests were as exotic
as their style impressions and we give once more, a hearty round of applause
for Team Veuve Clicquot on winning the polo match.
