The University of Cape Town
recently hosted their first ever Magnum Mile Races at the Kenilworth
Racecourse. Put together by @UCT_Rag, with the assistance of KL PR, they pulled
the cream liqueur brand, Magnum on board to add a dose of awesomeness to the
day. The event is based on platforms such as The L’Ormarin’s Queen’s Plate and
Durban July – other two events that should always be on your list of ‘Must-Do
Events’.
It started quite slow, in terms
of capacity filling up, which was pretty understandable – it was the first-ever
event and it was still early in the day. Our Editor, Monde Mtsi, along with Jasna
Zellerhoff, Sheri-Lee Greenway and Denzil Jacobs, were selected to be the
judges for the Best Dressed show-off on the day. There were plenty of smaller
activities and live entertainment.
Overall, it was an amazing
day had by all and Magnum definitely did a fantastic job at ensuring the
watering hole never ran dry. We’re looking forward to the next one next year
and we’re so super confident it’s only going to be bigger.
