A little while ago we were
doing our store visits and found ourselves snapping away at available product
inside the PUMA Select store on Bree Street in Cape Town. We too a sneak snap
at a black box with ‘Vashtie PUMA’ branding on it… No one was saying much but
we kind of figured the surprise would be worth it.
Today, in-store right now, you
can find the newly launched PUMA x Vashtie SS15 Collection. A sleek unisex
separates collaboration between multi-talented New Yorker, Vashtie Kola, and
PUMA International. Kola, a Creative Consultant, DJ and Filmmaker (amongst
other titles), took inspiration for the collaboration from the downtown NY
scenes from the 80s and 90s. What the collection with PUMA results in, is a
incredibly sublime and cool take on the B Boy culture.

immediately interested in this collaboration as I grew up following the brand.
As a child I was drawn toward skate boarding and alternative music and looked
to PUMA for fashion trends. I’m excited to create this collection that pays
homage to my childhood and New York’s underground scene.” – Vashtie Kola
